Short answer. A water filter or reverse osmosis (RO) system takes things out of the water. Eddy doesn't. Kettles start to show a marked reduction in scaling. Eddy helps protect the internal pumps of washing machines and dishwashers, and washing machines will require less powder. These changes build up over time as new water passes through the treated pipe.
